## Government-sponsored healthcare programs provide healthcare organizations with reimbursement opportunities based on the patient population that they serve. – Essaylink

Government-sponsored healthcare programs provide healthcare organizations with reimbursement opportunities based on the patient population that they serve. When administrators understand the demographics of the patient population, they can use that information to develop programs and plans for increasing patient volumes. Consequently, these programs increase patient revenue.
In your initial post, assume the role of healthcare administrator in a hospital environment. How would you approach the challenge of educating your staff on how the team can meet performance objectives for reimbursement from government-sponsored programs? Apply at least one collaborative teamwork principle in your response and explain why you chose that one.

## Public health workers are often like marketers trying to sell a product. They would like to know how to “sell” consumers on a health behavior; – Essaylink

Public health workers are often like marketers trying to sell a product. They would like to know how to “sell” consumers on a health behavior; for example, they may want to persuade consumers to get enough calcium to prevent osteoporosis. It would be important to know whether consumers care about osteoporosis or if they even know what it is.
The Precaution Adoption Process Model (PAPM) is a convenient framework for assessing where a person is in the process of deciding to take action on a health behavior. Not all health behaviors, however, fit the seven stages of this model. Some conditions involve complex behaviors such as protecting against skin cancer by wearing sunscreen, limiting time in the sun, and being screened by a dermatologist. A person may be in Stage 6 because they wear sunscreen but in Stage 1 because they have moles that need to be screened by a healthcare provider. In this example, the PAPM may not be a good fit.
For this Discussion, select a health condition to research. Review the literature, and select a peer-reviewed article about the illness or health condition. Consider how you would apply the seven stages of the PAPM to this health issue.
(See http://psandman.com/articles/PAPM.pdf)
With these thoughts in mind:
Post a brief description of the article you selected. Article I selected is (DIABETES) Please see attachment . Then, construct a diagram in a Word file that depicts the stages of the Precaution Adoption Process Model as it applies to your selected illness or health condition. Describe the strengths and limitations of the model as it applies to the illness or health condition you selected.

Six in ten Americans live with at least one chronic disease, like heart disease and stroke, cancer, or diabetes. These and other chronic diseases are the leading causes of death and disability in America, and they are also a leading driver of health care costs.
At CDC, our job is to make it easier for all Americans to make healthy choices so they can enjoy life. We know that most chronic diseases can be prevented by eating well, being physically active, avoiding tobacco and excessive drinking, and getting regular health screenings. CDC’s National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) helps people and communities prevent chronic diseases and promotes health and wellness for all.

## Some authors have concluded that hubris, excessive pride or self-confidence, has led to extreme accounts of unethical behavior in organizations. – Essaylink

Some authors have concluded that hubris, excessive pride or self-confidence, has led to extreme accounts of unethical behavior in organizations. According to Merriam-Webster, hubris comes from Ancient Greece and is a particular brand of cockiness and a dangerous character flaw capable of provoking the wrath of the gods. Other words identifies with hubris include conceited, arrogance, pride, vanity, and big-headedness.
In one of the readings for this week, McManus (2016) concludes from a study that hubris leads managers to invoke an amoral decision process. This decision process evolves into higher incidences of unethical behavior among individuals with a hubris character.
Another article below uses a mixed method study approach to determine and compare ethical profiles. Wisler (2018) looks at a luxury goods industry and the slowdown in business since the 2000s. While Wisler’s dissertation study was unable to effectively compare ethical profiles quantitatively, the findings in the qualitative portion of the study indicates a profound incompatibility between the values informing decision-makers using the luxury strategy verses those employed by leaders using responsible leadership practices.
Examining the ethical principles and making informed decisions for the organization are highly important. Consider ethical decision making as a process based on principles and standards. Eliminating unethical actions and options is a large part of an organization’s success. Decision-making in this area include many things such as rights, justice, and overall good of the employee and organization. Review each article for this week’s reading and determine in your mind what constitutes ethical decision making and the application of these components.
