After reading the summary of Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations, read this article:https://www.ancient.eu/article/174/marcus-aurelius-platos-philosopher-king/ In that last article, a contemporary author summarizes Meditations like this: “The questions that the Meditations tries to answer are primarily metaphysical and ethical ones: Why are we here? How should we live our lives? How can we ensure that we do what is right? How can we protect ourselves against the stresses and pressures of daily life? How should we deal with pain and misfortune? How can we live with the knowledge that someday we will no longer exist?” Select one of the questions in the above paragraph, and try to answer it. Be specific in terms of what you believe, and compare what you wrote to what Marcus Aurelius did. Where do you differ, and why do you think that is the case? This post should be at least 500 words, and possibly more (much more).
