This case history is presented as a life story typical of people in their late 70’s, 80’s or early 90’s. Although the person chosen is somewhat typical of the current generation of Australian born older people it is also recognised that people from other countries of origin and having different cultures and religions are rapidly becoming the consumers of aged care services. The person chosen is also a female; this is because in the year 2010 elderly women still significantly outnumber elderly men. The reading is called ‘A Typical Life’; this should not be seen as an attempt to devalue anybody
