(b)           Using a risk management approach and extensive consultation, develop a strategy or policy that you can use for your employee relations in the workplace.
(c)           List five employee relations strategy objectives and explain how these meet the requirements for equal opportunity and anti-discrimination to employees.
(d)           For your organisation (or as a simulated activity) state how you would look to manage employee disputes (from minor to major situations) with risk management strategies.
(e)           Name four possible areas of conflict that may occur and the strategies/policies that can be used to deal with these.

Project Assessment Task 2

To answer the following tasks, the student can choose their own work organisation or any organisation of their choice.

Complete the following tasks:

(a)                 As a simulated work activity, identify the key points that should be included to negotiate awards, agreements, and contracts in employee rights and obligations.

               Consider the following points:
Firstly, The maximum weekly hours for the role

Secondly, Flexible working arrangements that can be considered

Thirdly, Annual leave entitlements.

(b)                 State the terms and conditions of your organisation’s employment.

(c)                 Evaluate training opportunities within your organisation and undertake a cost-benefit analysis. Prepare a report and present your findings to the employer.

The assessor will complete an observation checklist and it will form part of the evidence gathered for this unit

(d)                 Provide two ideas and brief outlines for each of the below areas, for developing the organisational policy and procedures:
Employee recruitment
Employee retention
Also, Employee satisfaction.

(e) As a workplace/simulated activity, you will need to write a report on a short induction to a group of employees on workplace processes and procedures. This should include:

Health and safety requirements, e.g. fire exits, evacuation of the premises, incident reporting
Use of the premises, e.g. facilities, security, work areas
Employee policy/procedures, e.g. dress codes, discipline, use of phones/internet, communicating to clients/customers
Organisational staff structure and key personnel.

(f)            Why should individual and team development plans be used in the workplace? What does an employee performance management plan provide?

(g)           Provide a brief overview of how employee relations policies should be evaluated and revised. This should include, when reviews are made, what factors are involved and who would be included.

Project Assessment Task 3

To answer the following tasks, the student can choose their own work organisation or any organisation of their choice.

Complete the following tasks:

(a)           Establish a process for early intervention in employee disputes.

(b)           Provide a written communication to inform staff of the procedures for raising and resolving issues or disputes (problem-solving processes) and seek their support for these processes.

(c)           Provide a brief training session to inform on conflict management, negotiation and dispute resolution.

(d)           Provide details of a job role award at your organisation and detail the dispute resolution requirements in place for this.

(e)           Provide details of how external mediation, conciliation and arbitration can be used by an organisation.

Written Activity Assessment Task 4

To answer the following tasks, the student can choose their own work organisation or any organisation of their choice.

Answer each question in as much detail as possible, considering your organisational requirements for each one.

Part A

●                    Set out a brief plan of the areas of diversity that can be promoted positively within your organisation.

●                    Identify three events which may inhibit an organisation from meeting its diversity objectives and the processes you can put into place to help overcome these.

Part B

Provide a report on your organisation’s employee relations policy and procedures that take into account the following:

Firstly, Industrial agreements/awards

Secondly, Human resource requirements for employee relations

Thirdly, Organisational strategic and operational objectives

Fourthly, Employee supports, performance management and staff development

Further, Legislative and regulatory requirements

Additionally, Grievance and disciplinary actions

Lastly, Equal opportunity for employees

Part C

As a case study from your workplace (or a simulated workplace), perform the following:

Provide evidence of how employee relations strategy and policies have been implemented in your work area
How organisational culture has benefited from this
An instance where you have resolved an employee’s dispute
How diversity and inclusion is made at your workplace.
